Gayle Matthews, MD, FACOG, is thrilled to join Rainier OB/GYN after nearly ten years of providing care to women in Tacoma and surrounding areas. Most recently she worked with high risk obstetric patients and provided surgical and outpatient gynecologic care to patients at Community Health Care for seven years.
Dr. Matthews moved to Washington to fulfill a National Health Service Corps scholarship & worked in the lower Yakima valley prior to moving to Tacoma. She trained Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia after attending Temple University School of Medicine. Before her medical training she volunteered with the US Peace Corps after graduating from Yale University. She loves being an OB/GYN because she believes that all women deserve access to compassionate, high quality medical care.
