I didn't get seen until about 30 mins after my appointment time - which really is fairly standard these days. Other than that it was great. A medical student, M. Tan, did my intake and he was WONDERFUL. He was thorough and kind and explained why he was asking the things he was asking. Dr Maynard was recommended to me by a coworker who loved him and he was also very kind and thoughtful. He explained the procedure, gave his opinion on the things I asked and explained the procedure (tubal ligation).

I found out I was pregnant at 28 weeks and it was terrifying due to lack of care. Dr. Maynard did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and take care of my little girl. I was high risk so I went in every week for a non stress test and got to know he and his staff very well. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful. When I called the office the front desk already knew who I was because of my voice. It felt good to know they remembered me. Dr. Maynard always shakes your hand before and after a visit. Very personable. When he’s in the room his focus is on you 100% and it doesn’t feel like he’s in a rush to get out of the room like other providers. He takes his time to address all concerns and makes sure all of your questions are answered. There were times I sent messages during the weekend through the portal with concerns and he responded to me. Just had my six week PO appointment yesterday and it was surreal taking my baby with me into the office. Unfortunately he didn’t get to actually deliver my baby because she came super fast when he was on his way - but he still dropped by to visit and continue care. This is my first child and it has been the most wonderful experience. I can not recommend him enough! Thank you so much Dr. Maynard and staff! We will never forget you!

First time going to this practice and I am happy I went there. Dr. Maynard was understanding of what I wanted and needed.

I had to transfer due to being at a practice that I was not ok with so I started looking for a doctor with great reviews and found Dr. Maynard. From just my first appointment, I can say he has compassion for his patients and takes his time to really make sure everything is covered. With this being my last, I am only sad I didn't seek out his care prior. Lots of prior delivery trauma I could have avoided. I recommend him to anyone who plans on a delivery in a Tacoma hospital.

First appt with dr. Maynard went amazing! Great interaction and made me feel like my questions were important. Only reason for 4 stars was my appointment was at 1:15, and they were supposed to be back from lunch at 1, but the receptionist didn't get back and unlock the door until after 1:30, so by the time I filled out paperwork and everyone waiting was seen, I didn't get called back until after 2.

I had planned a home birth with a midwife, but had complications along the way that resulted in a c-section at Tacoma General. As it turns out, Dr. Maynard is the Ob/gyn that many midwives trust for hospital transfers. He is incredible, dedicated to his work, and obviously cares for his patients. I'm now 10 days post-partum and I'm healing well. My scar is minimal. Thank you, Dr. Maynard.

Had a high risk pregnancy because baby was diagnosed with birth defect. Before getting assigned to high risk OB my baby passed away. I needed induction for stillbirth labor and my midwife works with Dr. Maynard. He took me in immediately the same I needed the induction, even though I was not his patient. He was very compassionate, gentle, listened and honored every one of my desires. I highly recommend Dr. Maynard!

Dr. Maynard is very attentive and a great listener. As a woman I always wait for that first physically exam to see if the doctor is professional and is just doing his or her job and "nothing extra or that causes me to feel uncomfortable! He's a great doctor and I'm extremely comfortable with him when on visits are hard for me to go to. Totally non judgemental. He's an excellent surgeon as well. He did one of my cesareans and will deliver my second in a week here. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Maynard delivered my first baby and I am so glad he was my doctor. I experienced a complication during delivery and he acted quickly to ensure my health and well-being was a top priority. He had a phenomenal bedside manner and checked in on me often. I am so thankful he was my provider! I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a wonderful and personable doctor.

I’m very impressed with the kindness and attention to trying to make me feel comfortable and painless as getting iud remover and new one out in! He was amazing so very Gentle he also had two assists. This was my 3 iud and he was the first one every to ask if I would like to have local Numbing so it didn’t hurt to bad, it was so amazing very very greatful I was referred to him and after it only took me a few mins to be up and out. In the past I was in a ball in tears for a hr and sick and white from pain. I told my mom about him she wanted his number. I said dose this mean u can my OB now he smile said yes I except! He has a really claim about him and takes time. Thank u for the great job of u and ur team the trainee is awesome she is very kind !

I'm very picky when it comes to obgyn dr's, not to mention I have never had a Male Dr. before and at first was kind of nervous, but I was referred from a friend and no lie I'm so thankful I was. He's pretty down to earth and laid back but also takes the necessary precautions that he needs to make sure you and baby are safe. At the same time you feel comfortable and I'm glad that I chose him as our dr. Staff is pretty cool and nice, same with the ultrasound sound tech if you ever run into camilla one of my favorite nurses you are lucky she has checked me into most of my apts so id have to say she is great and always makes sure your tooken care of and passes messages to dr. Promptly so there is always great communication. No regrets here, I'm excited to meet our baby boy!!

I first met Dr. Maynard in the hospital ER for a separate OB issue. I was impressed with his calm and reassuring bedside manner. A few months later when I became pregnant I knew right away who I wanted to be my doctor. He presents a wholistic, natural approach to pregnancy as well as possessing the necessary medical and surgical knowledge and expertise to handle any unexpected situation that might arise. He is cheerful and present during appointments. I appreciate how he makes an effort to follow up on issues and to make sure I have all my questions and concerns answered.

I'm so happy that I chose Dr. Maynard to be my OB for my first pregnancy. My pregnancy was considered high risk, and Dr Maynard was there every step of the way. I felt confident and comfortable knowing he would also be my doctor on delivery day. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of treatment, care, and knowledge from him and his staff. Though It’s been about 9 months since I saw Dr.Maynard , I thought it’s never too late to write a review! First of all, he is incredible. I was with a midwife most of my pregnancy, toward the end of my pregnancy I had some manageable complications that required a physicians care. Our first encounter, I was being seen at the hospital to rule out a possible illness. He came into the room and was so kind. He was soft spoken, listened to my concerns and really took the time to make sure I was comfortable with my care. Our second encounter, was for an outpatient ECV procedure in the hospital. Again, his bed side manner was incredible. He sat down and went step by step through the procedure. He was honest and thoroughly explained the possibility of complications. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own (my daughter was/is stubborn) the procedure was unsuccessful. We scheduled a csection for one week from that date. Then 5 days before my scheduled csection, my water broke. We drove to the hospital at 4am. I wasn’t sure he was going to be the doctor there to deliver the baby, and I was so so anxious about having surgery. He arrived at the hospital and was there to again walk me through the entire procedure. He made sure I knew what was happening and that I was comfortable during the entire procedure. His stitching was flawless, now 9 months later, my scar looks great! He is an incredible doctor that we are lucky to have in our area! He genuinely cares about the women he takes care of, and believes women have a say in their care. I am done have children now but will continue to recommend him to any and all women I meet! Dr. Maynard and his staff are very knowledgeable, welcoming, and help ensure you get the treatment you need when you need it. Prior to coming to this office, I had yet to experience very many doctors that are covered with tricare that have good bedside manner or aren't very judgemental. Dr. Maynard and two members of the staff (Krysta and Kayley) have shown exceptional bedside manner and have gone above and beyond for my family and I! If I could give 10 stars I would! 100% would recommend.

Dr Steven is amazing. He is very caring for his patients and has so much experience. I am so happy I did my research and found his office in the area. I had a very positive experience during delivery prenatal and postpartum as well. Sally was very nice and explained everything very well during my ultrasound visits. Camile is an amazing nurse she provided me with resources I desperately needed at the most challenging times. She acknowledged my feeling and was very passionate about her job. Front desk staff are amazing as well. They always accommodated my requests. Kayla helped me multiple times as well. I also recommend Dr. Steven Maynard for newborn circumcision he did an amazing job. I was so worried but everything went well with him. I definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for an OB.

Dr. Maynard is extremely kind and understanding! During my visits he made me feel comfortable and listened to my needs. He explains everything thoroughly, and visits never feel rushed.

Dr Maynard is one of the most trustworthy doctors I have come into contact with. He was always transparent with me about my pregnancy and birth. There were a couple touch and go moments. I much appreciated his honesty. I wish he could birth all my children. His medical students were, well medical students. They were very professional. All of his staff including him listened, heard and my concerns. His office is a new age embodiment of a home town doctor. I highly recommend his practice.
